Opposition leader Peter Dutton says it is “inconceivable” a 13-year-old can access social media. Mr Dutton says he will raise the minimum age kids can access social media to 16 if he wins the next federal election. “It’s inconceivable that you would just allow your 13-year-old to just go down to a local park and start mingling with any random person who comes by … it’s inconceivable,” Mr Dutton said at a media conference on Thursday. “There’s a lot that we can do, and the technology’s trending in our favour to make sure we can deal with the scale of the problem.”
